Fortune Promoseven celebrates 50th anniversary

Fortune Promoseven (FP7) a full-service advertising company celebrated its 50th anniversary at an event last night. The agency established in 1968 in Beirut by seven partners who each contributed capital equivalent to 1 000 is part of McCann Worldgroup. It has been operating in Bahrain since 1976. Although born in Lebanon its expansion into Bahrain gave it a real opportunity to grow geographically quickly and beyond all expectations said Akram Miknas FP7 Chairman. The FP7 group is now in 13 countries geographically the widest spread for a company of its kind in the Middle East. The 50th anniversary celebration will continue throughout our agencies across the region he added. To mark the anniversary the firm commissioned an artwork by Lebanese artist Yazan Halwani which was unveiled at the celebration last night at the Promoseven Tower in Muharraq. I always say that although this brand was born in Beirut it grew up in Bahrain said FP7 Mena chief executive Tarek Miknas on the occasion. He added it was in Bahrain that the company witnessed some of its biggest achievements. It is in Bahrain that we signed our first ever multinational client Cathay Pacific still a client today he said. It is from FP7 in Bahrain that we launched Coca-Cola to the region in 1985 and it is FP7 in Bahrain that launched the McDonald s brand across the GCC he added. The company has also contributed to the launch of Bahrain s first Formula One in 2004. - TradeArabia News Service

Top regional honour for Bahraini businessman

MANAMA: A Bahraini businessman has received a top regional honour for his contribution to the marketing and advertising industry. Promoseven Holdings chief executive Akram Miknas was named by UAE-based media publication Arabian Marketer as its 2018 Person of the Year during an event in Dubai. Although I have diversified into numerous other fields in recent years I will first and foremost always consider myself an ad-man said Mr Miknas. Thus recognition from my peers and from influential advertising and marketing publications like Arabian Marketer mean a lot to me. Mr Miknas is also the chairman of Middle East Communications Network (MCN) which is one of the leading advertising and marketing communications agency networks in the Middle East and North Africa region. Behind every individual success story is a world-beating team and I would not be where I am today without a fantastic army of incredibly talented co-workers and employees along with many others who have supported me when the going got tough and not to mention the unstinting love and backing of my family. Mr Miknas added that the private sector in the Arab world has expanded tremendously in recent years but there is not enough to offer tangible opportunities for millions of new graduates and school-leavers each year. In many communities lack of opportunities leads to desperation and even radicalisation which in turn undermines our social fabric and holds the Arab world back. It sounds trite to say that political instability and the worlds of marketing don t mix. Yet this masks a deeper truth: Unless we work harder to stimulate a flourishing economy and career opportunities for our young people across the entire region less fortunate corners of the Arab world will never escape this vicious circle of social divisions and economic stagnation. Mr Miknas was ranked number three on Communicate s Power List 2011 The Middle East s 50 Most Powerful People in Media Marketing and Advertising and was recognised as Man of the Year 2014 by the prestigious regional publication ArabAd.
