Y K Almoayyed & Sons (YKA), a leading automotive conglomerate in Bahrain, has announced its partnership with ZEEKR, a global electric mobility technology brand from Geely Holding Group. 

 

As part of the partnership, YKA’s subsidiary company, Asia Motors, has been appointed as the authorised distributor of ZEEKR for Bahrain. This strategic move marks a significant milestone in the YKA’s commitment to spearheading sustainable transportation solutions and driving the future of electric mobility in the region, the company said.

 

ZEEKR is renowned for its premium electric vehicles that combine stunning aesthetics, advanced technology, and exceptional performance. The brand represents a new era of automotive innovation, with a strong focus on sustainability and eco-consciousness, it said. 

 

ZEEKR was founded in 2021 and specialises in electric mobility based on its revolutionary Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA). Partnering with tech leaders like Mobileye and Waymo, the brand is valued at $13 billion as of February 2023. Their state-of-the-art electric vehicles are equipped with CATL's long-range Qilin batteries, offering a range of over 1,032 km on a single charge.

 

ZEEKR will offer ZEEKR 001 shooting-brake and ZEEKR X sport-utility vehicle models in Bahrain. The two models are engaging in localisation, with a range of features such as the Internet of Vehicles (IoV), local navigation, and Human-Machine Interface (HMI). Considering the high-temperature scenarios, both models are calibrated and tested in Saudi Arabia with heat management and high-pressure systems to ensure the air conditioning system's reliability. It shows they can meet regulatory requirements and performance in steady conditions.
