Bahrain government has started the hand over of 5,000 new housing units built under the Umm Al-Hassam Housing Project to the citizens, said a report.

This comes following the order of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, for the speedy delivery of the housing units, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to meet the citizens’ needs marking the holy month of Ramadan, and in line with the efforts of the government, led by HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, to continue implementing its action plan, reported BNA.

Housing Minister Bassim bin Yaqoob Al Hamar, said that the Ministry had intensified its efforts to prepare the distribution timetable immediately after the issuance of HRH the Crown Prince’s order, affirming that all potentials will be harnessed to ensure the distribution process is completed within the shortest period possible.

He stressed that all the projects that are distributed are among the strategic projects currently carried out by the Housing Ministry within the 25,000-unit programme included in the Government Action Plan, and emanate from His Majesty’s directives to build 40,000 units, stated the report.

The units of Umm Al Hassam housing project are designed according to the D11 model, which consists of two floors and four rooms, said the BNA report.

The units’ owners may build an additional floor and undertake the legal expansion stipulated by the Housing Ministry’s regulations, it stated.

The project also features key amenities including a mosque, commercial outlets and open areas, it added.
