Bahrain-based Bank ABC, a leading international bank, has been named among the top 10 GCC corporations by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Bank ABC is a leading player in the region’s banking industry and provides innovative wholesale financial products and services that include corporate banking, trade finance, project and structured finance, syndications, treasury and financial markets products and Islamic banking. It also provides retail-banking services through its network of retail banks in Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria.
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry last week announced the winners of the Sharjah Economic Excellence Network Awards, including the Top 10 GCC Businesses Awards, said a statement.
The economic excellence awards recognise sound corporate governance, quality assurance, work ethics and sustainable development. The awards ceremony was held under the patronage of Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, on January 31, at the Sharjah Expo Centre.
More than 100 corporation and several of business leaders from the GCC were nominated to the 2017 excellence awards. The selection criteria included measures related to business excellence, professional practices and social responsibility, it said.
Dr Khaled Kawan, group chief executive officer, Bank ABC, said: “This recent award is yet another confirmation that we are on the right path to providing our customers with a differentiated experience and creating value for our shareholders.”
