Alba wins top ‘investor relations’ award

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), a leading international aluminium smelter, said that it was recognised as the ‘Leading Corporate for Investor Relations – Bahrain’ at the Middle East Investor Relations Association's 2017 IR Awards (Meira) 2017, held last month, in Dubai, UAE.

Meira, in collaboration with WeConvene Extel, recognises the performances of corporate and individual investor relations (IR) professionals in the region.

In total, 294 qualifying responses from 181 separate organisations (buy-side and sell-side) were received this year, said a statement from Alba.

Alba’s chief executive officer Tim Murray, said: “We view investor relations as a commitment to our shareholders and stakeholders and are honoured to receive this prestigious award for the seventh year in a row.”

“This award endorses our company’s transparent corporate governance policies as well as recognises our continuous efforts in engaging with the investment community, both regionally and internationally,” he added.

In 2010, Alba launched its initial public offering (IPO) as well as completed its dual listing on the Bahrain Bourse and London Stock Exchange, it added.

The company’s current shareholders are Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (69.38 per cent), Sabic Industrial Investment Company (20.62 per cent) and the general public (10 per cent).-TradeArabia News Service
