A delegation from the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) took part in the ‘Seatrade Europe’ exhibition held in Germany recently.

The event, from September 6 to 8, was also attended by representatives from the Economic Development Board, At Bahrain, Mathias Tourism and Visit Bahrain.

The participation is in line with BTEA’s tourism strategy under the slogan ‘Ours. Yours’, focusing on four pillars: awareness, attraction, access and accommodation. A key integral component of the strategy is to develop the sea ports in the kingdom in order to attract a larger number of yachts and cruise ships and promote the kingdom as a unique destination among various stakeholders and companies in the cruise industry, a statement said.

BTEA participated alongside the Cruise Arabia stand at the Seatrade Europe event. The stand focused on three main destinations in the region: Bahrain Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

“We are pleased to announce our successful participation in the ‘Seatrade Europe’ exhibition. This comes as part of the BTEA’s efforts to further strengthen the Kingdom's positionas a regional and international tourist destination. We are keen to participate in more prestigious regional and international exhibitions and events in the coming future,” said the director of tourism marketing and promotions at BTEA, Yousif Al Khan.

“We aim to attract foreign investment through our participation in this exhibition, and increase the number of visitors coming to the Kingdom and further develop the industry and overall national economy. The ‘Seatrade Europe’exhibition is one of the most important global cruise events and is the ideal platform to promote the Kingdom as a destination among many other international exhibitors,” he added.

More than 5,000 visitors and 260 exhibitors from over 40 countries visited the exhibition, including new companies in the cruise industry, who showcased their latest products. Also in attendance were over 270 cruise line executives including senior buyers, planners and key decision makers from Europe's ocean and river cruise lines. – TradeArabia News Service
