Ithmaar Bank opens new branch in Seef Mall with integrated, cutting-edge digital services

Ithmaar Bank, a Bahrain-based Islamic retail bank that owns and operates the largest Islamic retail banking network in the Kingdom, today inaugurated its new Main Branch in Seef Mall, Seef District.


The new Main Branch was inaugurated by Ithmaar Bank Chief Executive Officer, Ahmed Abdul Rahim, in the presence of presence of Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) Executive Director – Banking Supervision, Khalid Al Hamad, and CBB Director - Islamic Financial Institutions Supervision, Fahad Yateem. The ceremony was also attended by Ithmaar Bank Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Abdul Hakeem Al Mutawa, General Manager - Retail Banking Group, Mohammed Janahi, General Manager - Business Banking Group Abdulla Abdulaziz Talib, and General Manager - Information Technology and Banking Operations, Yusuf Alkhan, in addition to a number of Bank officials and branch customers.

“As part of the far-reaching digital initiatives that we are implementing across the Bank, we recognised that convenience, speed ​​and security are among the most important elements and features that customers look for when conducting banking transactions,” said Abdul Rahim. “This is especially true with the increased customer reliance on technology, and we focused on responding to our customers’ demands by opening an integrated digital-led branch in Seef Mall,” he said.


The new branch, located near Gate No. 10 in Seef Mall, was designed with a fresh, new look and feel and advanced technologies in order to ensure an enhanced banking experience for customers. This includes the provision of next-generation ATMs and other new digital solutions, in addition to the use of the latest cutting-edge Self-Service Banking to automate various services, including, for example, instant printing of account statements and certificates, updating customer information, and instant printing of card statements. In the very near future, more services will be added, such as instant issuance of Debit Cards and eCards, as well as the commissioning of a Cash Deposit Machine


With the opening of the Seef Mall Branch, Ithmaar Bank ushers in new era for the Bank’s branch network and confirms its commitment to implement major digital transformation initiatives. The next stage will include digitising customer transactions to ensure that a whole new digital banking experience is provided to Ithmaar Bank customers.


In June last year, Ithmaar Bank announced the opening of a new branch in Hamad Town, where the Hamala branch was moved to a new, better and more accessible location with more parking spaces. Ithmaar Bank's branch network currently consists of 13 branches and 38 ATMs located in strategic locations throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain.
