Shamsaha celebrates grand reopening in Harbour Towers

Shamsaha, a non-profit organization providing the only crisis advocacy program in the Middle East for women in search of empowerment and safety, has announced its grand reopening at Harbour Towers within Bahrain Financial Harbour.

The new 220sqm office space is part of a five-year sponsorship from Harbour Towers supporting Shamsaha’s mission of advocating for women’s empowerment in Bahrain and across the region. The new office also signals Shamsaha’s plans to expand its services to the wider GCC region, making Harbour Towers the headquarters of Shamsaha’s regional operations.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the new office, in line with Team Bahrain’s Covid-19 precautionary and preventive measures, that was attended by Bahrain Financial Harbour CEO Alex Craine, Shamsaha founder and executive director Mary-Justine Todd, and Shamsaha president Munira Alshaikh.

Shamsaha president Munira Alshaikh said, “With the new office space, Shamsaha is able to further streamline all our support services and enhance the experience for the women we serve.”

“On behalf of our advisory board, our staff, and volunteers, we express our sincerest gratitude to Harbour Towers for their continued partnership and for placing their faith in Shamsaha’s mission to protect and empower women.”

Bahrain Financial Harbour CEO Alex Craine said, “I am delighted for this opportunity to support Shamsaha in their valuable mission; everyone should be able to flourish and reach their full potential in a safe environment.”

Shamsaha offers 24/7 free and confidential crisis care for victims of domestic and sexual abuse via its helplines in English and Arabic.
