Bafco starts Arad Jet Fuel Depot Facility demolition

OIL AND GAS NEWS

Bahrain Airport Fuelling Company (Bafco) has commenced demolition works on its Arad Jet Fuel Depot Facility earlier this week.

The project consists of deconstructing the storage facility and is expected to be completed within nine months.

The demolition works, undertaken by specialist contractors, will take place at the fuel farm located in Arad and alongside the associated pipelines extending into Bahrain International Airport.

Highest safety
To ensure the project adheres to the highest safety and environmental standards, a Demolition Environmental Management Plan (DEMP) has been developed and implemented. Noise and dust will be continuously monitored throughout the project.

While remedial works may include partial traffic disruption, Bafco has also put in place traffic management measures to ensure that main roads remain unaffected and traffic is managed efficiently.

Works on the project will take place weekly from Saturdays to Thursdays from 6 am to 5 pm. Bafco is committed to completing the demolition process within the allotted timeframe with the least disruption possible.

This comes in line with the kingdom’s ongoing effort to develop the aviation sector and the recent completion of Bahrain International Airport’s (BIA) fuel farm complex to increase the fuel storage capacity.-- TradeArabia News Service
