nogaholding concludes Empower summer internship programme

Bahrain’s Oil and Gas Holding Company (nogaholding) and its operating companies have successfully concluded their youth summer internship programme, Empower.
 
The programme, which trained close to 200 students, ran during the months of July and August and comes in line with the group’s commitment to invest in the future of the kingdom by training a strong pool of future industry leaders and developing their professional and technical skills.
 
A commemorative event was hosted by the group attended by management teams and students. 
 
Opportunity for university students 
Empower was launched to provide an opportunity for university students to explore and train in different fields in the oil and gas sector. Through this programme, the students gained valuable hands-on work experience at some of the leading companies in the nogaholding Group, including Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), Bahrain Aviation Fuelling Company (Bafco), Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Company (Asry), Tatweer Petroleum, Bahrain National Gas Company (Banagas) and Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC). 
 
Commenting, nogaholding Group CEO, Mark Thomas, said: “Our Chairman, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, has always been a strong advocate for youth empowerment.
