Causeway maintenance work completed

Routine maintenance works on Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman Causeway in Bahrain have been completed at a cst of BD330,000 ($875,374), a report said.
 
The project covered 15 km both directions of the causeway, from the bridge until the intersection with Dry Dock Highway, Roads Projects and Maintenance Director Sayed Bader Alawi was quoted as saying by a Bahrain News Agency report.
 
He said the project was part of the ministry's master plan of protecting assets and roads to maintain a technical level that is required to perform maintenance before any decrease in structural and functional performance for the road. The road was built up to globally approved engineering standards.
 
The director said that the revamping efforts will help extend the road's lifespan and will help the road prevent deterioration in its functional performance.
