Mideast's first Thai-inspired mall to open in Bahrain in Q4

Vega ThaiMart has signed up Crown Electro – Mechanical Services as the main contractor for its ambitious project, ThaiMart, a first-of-its-kind Thai-Inspired shopping destination within Diyar Al Muharraq development in Bahrain.
 
Showcasing Thailand’s authentic products in Bahrain, ThaiMart remains on track to open in the fourth quarter of this year in the iconic masterplan Diyar Al Muharraq.
 
Once the project gets completion in Q4, ThaiMart will be the region’s first “Thai-Inspired” shopping destination, said senior officials at a recent signing ceremony held at the sales office in Diyar Al Muharraq. 
 
Vega ThaiMart CEO Akavut Tangsilikusonwong said: "With stable development on both construction and leasing, immeasurable support from Diyar Al Muharraq and different Thailand Government Sectors, we look forward to launching ThaiMart to the public during the last quarter of this year and offer a unique and diverse shopping, dining and entertainment experiences for the families and visitors."
 
Dr Maher Al Shaer, the managing director of Dragon City Company, said: "We are very pleased with the announcement made today and delighted to see the development in construction and progress achieved so far."
 
The mall has made significant progress so far, with 60% of their retail spaces leased and committed. 
 
"Staying true to its promise, Diyar Al Muharraq continues to focus its effort on delivering a unique offering and ThaiMart comes as part of its strategy to provide unique offerings within the business district and next to Dragon City that is proof to be great success in providing diverse retail experience within Diyar Al Muharraq," he stated.
 
The solid business relationship between Thailand and Bahrain resulted in the birth of Thai Mart, he added.
 
With continuous economic support from both allies, they develop a long and strong cooperation which supports the new iconic Thai shopping destination at the southwest corner of Diyar Al Muharraq, Bahrain.
 
Tangsilikusonwong pointed out that Diyar Al Muharraq was the right location with the right environment for ThaiMart. "Also its business district will be apt for ThaiMart to showcase Thailand’s authentic products to the Kingdom of Bahrain," he added.
 
The project is scheduled for handover on or before October 1, 2019 and by then the site will be open for most of the mall tenants to come in and start their fit-out works.
 
ThaiMart aims to provide a wide-range of striking Thai architecture, showcasing the trendiest and most exciting products and services from ther country under one roof. 
 
It will also propel the shopping understanding with its impressive lineup of Thai retailers unsurpassed by any mall in Bahrain, said the statement from Vega ThaiMart.
 
ThaiMart will have a food court with tasteful Thai, international restaurants and regional chains. Jewellery zones, kids’ area and shopping alleys designed with safety and accessibility optimization to the retail outlets, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
