Bahrain to host major health tech conference

The region’s leading experts in dermatology, plastic surgery, laser & aesthetics will discuss the latest advances and trending topics in the field at the first Bahrain Dermatology, Laser and Aesthetics conference and exhibition (BDLA 2018).

BDA Center for medical training is organizing the conference at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Bahrain - Conference Center on November 29 for 2 days.

The participants should benefit by staying ahead of the curve and up-to-date on the new and advancing health technologies. The ultimate aim of the organizers is to highlight ways to engage patients and gain improvement in health-related outcomes.

The conference includes five workshops that are unique and adapted to fit the local and regional regulatory frameworks. The workshops offer new insight into techniques in major & minimally invasive plastic surgeries, skin care and skin rejuvenation, as well as the treatment of burns, ulcers, the latest trends in injectables such as fillers & Botox, body countering devices and laser machines.

President of the conference, Dr Nidhal Abdulrahman Khalifa, stated that the event aims to identify the latest international practices in the field of Dermatology and Plastic surgery.

“We aim to promote these practices to enhance the Bahraini practice. We hope to advance the skills of Bahraini doctors, technicians and authorized practitioners. We also intend to spread awareness of non-qualified personnel that perform cosmetic medical procedures, and the harmful health complications and adverse sequelae that can arise,” Dr Khalifa said.

Dr Khalifa also highlighted that the conference will host several open panel with regulators, key stakeholders and the public to discuss the regulatory framework and ways to promote growth in the sector. The conference is also hosting roundtable discussions with key personnel to reach key recommendations to shape the future of the Dermatology, laser and aesthetics field in Bahrain.

Deputy chairman of the conference, Dr Ahmed Darwish Shahda, said that the conference provides a unique opportunity to network for Bahraini doctors with their GCC & international colleagues.

Dr Shahda said that this conference and exhibition is part of the national plan of Bahrain to be a world-class destination in the field of medical training and medical tourism.

“This builds on the talented human capital, forward-thinking government and strategic location of Bahrain. The conference is an excellent chance to follow up on the latest scientific research and the current international techniques in the field of Dermatology and plastic surgery,” he added.

Dr Shahda explained that it was a great opportunity to have an accompanying exhibition.
