Gulf Air officials meet with kingdom's trade union members

Zayed R. Alzayani, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and Gulf Air’s chairman recently met with members of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions (GFBTU) to discuss a number of matters related to labour issues.

Attending the meeting were Gulf Air's deputy chief executive officer, Captain Waleed Abdulhameed AlAlawi; General Secretary of GFBTU, Hassan Al Halwachi, a number of GFBTU representatives and Sawsan Al Aradi, chief of Gulf Air Trade Union.

At the meeting, Alzayani praised GFBTU’s efforts to develop cooperation and close ties across various sectors with the greater goal of creating a stable working environment that will operate in the interests of employers and workers. The meeting was an important platform for Gulf Air to reiterate its longstanding support of GFBTU and vision of close collaboration to achieve Bahrain’s vision and strategies in this regard.

Gulf Air is in the midst of a #YearOfChange which sees the airline receive five Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and one Airbus A320neo aircraft in 2018. Gulf Air’s new and highly anticipated fleet entry, the airline’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, serves Gulf Air’s double daily London Heathrow service, offering increased capacity and enhanced, superior onboard products and services.
