Manara, a leading real estate development company, said it has begun work on a new interchange junction that will lead directly to its ambitious “Investment Gateway - Bahrain” project; a unique light industrial zone in the governorate of Muharraq.

The junction is aimed to promote an ease of movement to and from the project, said the Bahraini developer.

The Investment Gateway - Bahrain project is located strategically between Bahrain International Airport, Salman Industrial City, Khalifa Port, and Sheikh Khalifa Bridge.

"Once the new traffic intersection get completed, it will further stress the importance of this project, as it will promote ease of access for all vehicles and movement of goods in and out of the site with greater ease," explained managing director Dr Hasan Al Bastaki.

Acknowledging key role played by the government in supporting investors, Dr Al Bastaki said: "The government has continued to overcome all challenges to further encourage us to engage and diversify our projects in Bahrain, thanks to the ideal business environment."

He further commended the cooperation received from all related government entities in overseeing the project throughout its phases and up to its timely delivery, he added.

Dr Al Bastaki pointed out the new intersection will give owners in the project, and those prospective buyers greater flexibility, and further help strengthen their operations with easier movement of goods.

Manara, he stated, has recently completed the infrastructural works of the first phase in the “Investment Gateway – Bahrain” project which spans over an area of 600,000 sq m.

It has achieved several key milestones that include excavation and reclamation of the site, the infrastructure development with a cost totaling BD25 million ($66 million) that includes an electricity plant to generate 66 Kv, in addition to 29 substations to power the following project developments.

According to him, the developmental milestones also included the laying of the road network and pedestrian lanes, as well as the lampposts that include underground electrical cabling through connectivity to both primary as well as secondary substations to power approximately 394 plots allocated for showrooms, warehouses, handling services, sales and light industrial activities.

In addition to that, the sewage network has been developed as well as the water and irrigation system, rainwater drainage and communication cabling works, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
